On Tuesday 3rd December, RadSoc hosted the yearly Young OR Christmas Drinks at swanky South Ken venue The Other House. The event saw an impressive turnout of around 100 Old Radleians under 30, joined by several well-known dons, creating a lively atmosphere.

The evening offered a chance for young ORs to catch up with friends, make new connections, and usher in the festive season. Attendees included an impressive contingent of recent school leavers who were keen to share their experiences of adjusting to university life, as well as those in the early stages of their professional careers. They all enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with each other and gather together as part of the Radley community.

The venue at The Other House provided an excellent backdrop for the event, with plenty of space for mingling and a steady flow of drinks courtesy of RadSoc’s generous bar tab. Conversations ranged from sharing old stories and memories of Radley to updates on life since leaving. There was plenty of energy in the room throughout!

It was wonderful to hear that so many young ORs are already making use of the support on offer from RadSoc for their professional development. Some mentioned that they had found Radley Connect helpful for reaching out to those in the community working in sectors that interested them. Others said how much they had enjoyed watching Beyond Radley talks or recordings of Business Networking events. “You know you’ve made it,” said one young OR, “when you are asked to speak at a RadSoc business event.”

We are sure there were plenty of ORs in the room who, before too long, will be invited for their moment in the spotlight at a future business or careers event.

Thank you to everyone who came along on the evening – as always, it was a pleasure for us and the dons to see you all looking so well, and thriving in every walk of life. We wish you all a very merry Christmas and all good things for 2025.
