On Tuesday 15th November, at Savills in London, the Radleian Society held its third and final networking event this year focussing on the topic of entrepreneurship: In Conversation with Entrepreneurs: From concept to reality.

A panel of four Old Radleians who have each grown successful businesses, gathered for an informal ‘fireside chat’ event in which all aspects of entrepreneurship – from concept and development, through to investment and marketing – were discussed. The venue was full, with 100 people in attendance, including those with years of experience in various industries, and also 30 current Radleians from the school. The Q&A provided an opportunity to the large audience to quiz the panel, and plenty of weighty questions were posed on topics as various as social media marketing, recruitment, and entrepreneurship as an alternative to higher education.

Following the discussion, attendees took the opportunity to get to know each other over drinks and canapés in a lively networking session. This was the perfect opportunity to ask questions directly to our four panellists, meet others working in similar or complementary industries, and share experience and expertise with those just starting out.

Although this was the final event in the entrepreneurship series, these networking events continue to be of huge value to the Old Radleian community, and further business events are in the pipeline. The purpose of these events is to leverage the rich and diverse experience of ORs and Radley parents to aid and assist those in their early careers and to strengthen professional relationships throughout the community. To keep our finger on the pulse, the Radleian Society would love to hear your suggestions on event topics and speakers that would be of most use and interest to the community.
