We are seeking a dedicated Matron (Pastoral Housemistress) to assist in the effective running of one of our boys’ boarding houses, accommodating approximately 70 pupils. This residential position plays a key role in providing high standards of pastoral care, ensuring the welfare, development, and support of the boys in a nurturing and well-organised environment.

The Pastoral Housemistress ensures that the boarding house is a safe, well-ordered, and welcoming environment where boys thrive both personally and academically. From day one, you will act as a trusted figure for pupils, offering guidance and support while maintaining the smooth daily running of the house.

The ideal candidate will:

Demonstrate a warm and approachable personality, with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of teenage boys.
Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Show flexibility, resilience, and an understanding, tolerant nature.

While previous experience as a matron or in a similar role would be advantageous, we also welcome applications from individuals who are enthusiastic about working with children and eager to gain experience in a boarding setting.
