In his 23 years, Alan’s contribution to Radley was immense: as Master at Radley (1969-1994), Tutor of B Social (1973-1984) Sub-Warden (1988-1989) and Honorary Secretary of the Radleian Society (1989-1994). He will be remembered by many as a hugely popular don and Social Tutor but, most of all, as an inspirational cricket coach (particularly to his all-conquering colts teams, National Champions for 3 consecutive years).

To commemorate this, the College will be celebrating Alan’s life with a lunch in Old Pavilion from 12pm, to which all who knew him are welcome. To register to attend the lunch, please fill out the form below (if you have any mobility or dietary requirements, please email us).

Alan was looked after in his final days by a local organisation called The Lawrence Home Nursing Team. They provided him with the most exceptional care and allowed him to remain at home throughout, which was very important to him. If anyone wanted to make a donation in his memory, instead of flowers, the Trust may be reached by following this link.
