Friday 11th July 2025 | From 11am – Late
20 years on since Hugo Rutland tragically lost his life in August 2005, Archie, Eliza, Henry and Claire invite you to mark this special occasion on Friday 11th July at Radley College, where Hugo spent his teenage years pushing the boundaries, making creative use of the golf course and meeting so many of his lifelong friends.
The Day’s Line-Up
We will aim to kick off the day in the late morning with simultaneous golf and cricket tournaments running in parallel, rounding off the afternoon with a hog roast, food trucks, silent auction, and much more, late into the evening.
Getting There
Radley College is located just outside Oxford and has a local train station, just 1 hour from Paddington. Sporting activities will run throughout the afternoon, so if you cannot make it first thing, there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved as the day progresses.
Let Us Know You’re Coming
So that we can get an indication of numbers and therefore teams, please let us know below if think you can make it, roughly what time you plan to arrive, and whether you would like to get involved in either the golf or the cricket or you’d rather just come along for the occasion. Your response is by no means final, but it will help us plan the day. There will be plenty of non-playing spectators and we will congregate around the Old Pavilion, which is located directly between the cricket pitch and the golf course.
A Day for Everyone
The school holidays will be in session so there will be plenty of parking, Shop will be open for bacon rolls and coffees in the morning, and the Test Match will be showing on the TV. We certainly hope you can join us for this poignant milestone in remembering Hugo and the good old days. The day is open to anyone and everyone—whether you knew Hugo or not, we encourage you to bring as many friends and family as possible.
Supporting the Hugo Rutland Memorial Fund
Radley has very generously donated use of their grounds and facilities. In return for their generosity, if anyone would like to donate towards the Hugo Rutland Memorial Fund – established in 2006 to support young Radley families affected by life-changing events – we encourage you to do so. The suggested donation is £20 and for that you will get a fantastic day of sport, hog roast and much more. Alternatively, feel free to bid generously in the live auction. All proceeds from the day will go towards supporting the fund. A donation link will be shared and facilities for making donations will be available on the day.
We look forward to seeing lots of old faces.
Love from Archie, Eliza, Henry and Claire
